My client is well established family owned consumer packaging good company based in NYC.

The President is looking for an exceptional Controller to lead the finance and accounting team. This is the #1 position within Finance and Accounting reporting directly to the President and Owner.

The client is open to a few different backgrounds:

+ Coming out of a high volume CPG company with thousands of SKU's

+ Coming out of a high volume restaurant, hotel or catering type company

They have thousands of SKU's and need someone with inventory, costing, sales reporting, margin/profit analysis.

This is a very hands on role, the Controller will be working heavily in the general ledger.

As always, these are permanent, full time, fully benefited salaried positions (these are NOT temp, or temp to perm).

They are in the office in NYC 5 days a week.

Compensation is based on experience:

The Controller is between $150k - $180k base

The role will cover:

+ Managing a small team of accountants

+ Managing the month end close, quarter and year end close

+ Producing financial statements

+ Producing sales report, profitability reporting

+ Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and outside tax and audit team

Who are you?

+ MUST come out of a product based company with costing, inventory

+ Someone that is very hands on and willing to work directly in the GL and support their team

+ Highly proficient in Excel (Pivot tables etc.)

+ A minimum of a BA/BS in Accounting from a top accredited school

+ 10+ years of experience.

Exceptional communications skills are required. A great dynamic personality and the ability to work along your fellow colleagues is crucial. He or she must be able to effectively collaborate with individuals both inside and outside the company.
