    Position description

    UCLA Linguistics Department: Lecturer in Linguistics Position AY 2025-2026

    The UCLA Department of Linguistics invites applications for a part-time Lecturer for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach 4 of the following undergraduate courses:

    • Fall 2025 (2 courses): Introduction to General Phonetics, Applied Phonology

    • Winter: Experimental Phonetics

    • Spring: Introduction to Applied Phonetics

     

    See Table 15 for the salary range for this position. Salary placement will be based on skills, knowledge, and experience.

     

    According to current UCLA policy, all courses must be taught in person on the UCLA campus.

    • Phonology

    • Phonetics

     

    Minimum educational degree required - Ph.D. with specialization in related field desirable.

     

    The department will adhere to the Academic Personnel policies governing Unit 18 Lecturer appointments and promotions in order to recruit and retain a diverse faculty and to continue to contribute to the diversity goals of the UC.
