    Full Charge Bookkeeper in Garden City, Long Island, NY (Construction Industry)

     

    Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper with Construction industry experience in accrual-based accounting and a mastery of QuickBooks Enterprise.

     

    This is a dynamic role that requires hands-on expertise in accrual-based accounting practices and proficiency in QuickBooks. Experience in the construction industry is a must.

    As the Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will:

    + Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions.

    + Prepare financial statements and reconcile general ledger accounts using accrual-based accounting.

    + Process full cycle accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), invoicing including AIAI Billing, and payroll (including Certified Payroll) efficiently and accurately.

    + Handle job costing and maintain budgets regularly with construction projects.

    + Generate reports, including WIP schedules, and oversee banking and cash flow management.

    + Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely payments and accurate tracking of expenses.

    + Maintain compliance with tax filings, permits, and industry-specific audit requirements.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, particularly within the construction industry.

    + Advanced expertise with QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.

    + Solid understanding of accrual-based accounting principles.

    + A detail-oriented and highly organized approach to managing financial data.

    + Strong communication and problem-solving skills for collaborating with vendors and team members.
