SUMMARY: The Master Mechanic performs maintenance to s ervice, repair, and overhaul aircraft to insure airworthiness . Utilizes technical skills and knowledge to train and develop mechanics. Assists Leads with daily operation of functional area while working under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
+ Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the ATS RSM procedures as required.
+ Repair, modify, replace or otherwise performs routine maintenance.
+ Uses technical data to order parts and ensures material is effective for component being installed on.
+ Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.
+ Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.
+ May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality control of assigned projects.
+ Estimates labor hour requirements as required.
+ Identifies opportunities to develop DER repairs.
+ Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
+ Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
+ Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.
+ Complies with and may communicate and provide guidance to team members on ATS policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.
+ Mentors and develops mechanics assigned to their functional areas.
+ May assist in regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments within crew.
+ Responsible for accurate timekeeping including clocking into jobs.
+ May be responsible for accuracy of clocking into jobs for assigned team.
+ Adheres to company training guidelines.
+ Regular and predictable attendance.
+ Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensure provision of full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and are provided with the proper equipment to carry out the job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

+ Detailed knowledge of specialty area, paperwork and publications and an understanding of technical information in order to troubleshoot problems.
+ General PC skills and basic knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Word).
+ General working knowledge of Gateway programs and may include Oracle and other production tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum of three (3) years’ recent component maintenance, commercial aircraft maintenance, and/or MRO experience preferred.
+ Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license preferred
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds using proper lifting protocols.
ENVIRONMENT:
Based on location, may be required to pass background check for SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) or AOA (Airport Operations Area) badge .
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May work outside in various types of weather. This position requires use of a respirator.
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.50, not including bonuses or benefits. Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
