    CAD Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team, supporting both the Electrical and Civil Transmission Line (T-Line) divisions. The successful candidate will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions and prepare and revise engineering drawings of basic components. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a top-rated ENR Transmission & Distribution practice that utilizes cutting-edge technologies.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings from specific sketches or layouts.

    + Prepare and revise plot drawings.

    + Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures.

    + Follow drafting practices of selected disciplines.

    + Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.

    + Utilize standard drafting detail programs.

    + Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.

    + Research and recommend solutions to project concerns and design problems.

    + Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + 2-5 years of experience in AutoCAD and Microstation for Electrical CAD Technician OR 1 year of civil experience for Civil CAD Technician.

    + Basic knowledge of commands in at least one CAD program.

    + Ability to use higher-level commands and time-saving programs.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Problem-solving and analytical skills.

    + Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    + Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    + Self-motivated and eager to learn.

    + Ability to meet deadlines and budgets.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate degree in drafting technology or related field and zero to two years of related experience, or no degree with two years of progressive detailing and design experience.

    + High School Diploma/GED with coursework in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification.

    + Bachelor's Degree in computer-aided drafting/design or Associate Degree with a minimum of 1 year of civil experience preferred.

    + Basic knowledge and experience in multiple CAD systems, including 3D.

    + Demonstrated leadership skills.

    Work Environment

    This position requires working 100% in the office. The role offers a professional environment with opportunities to engage in the latest technologies and engineering practices within the Transmission & Distribution space.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.30 - $28.00/hr.
