    UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Senior Application Operations Engineer with 8 years of experience in Java application development and experience working with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, to support a suite of modernized applications deployed in AWS. This position is fully remote. The ideal candidate will manage daily operational tasks including deployments, troubleshooting, issue triage, and continuous enhancement of applications aligned with organizational standards for code quality and security.

    POSITION: Senior Application Operations Engineer

     

    MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

     

    + Minimum 8 years of experience in Java application development and maintenance

    + Proficiency with Java build tools such as Maven and Gradle

    + Hands-on experience with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, and JSP

    + Strong expertise in Oracle and/or PostgreSQL relational databases

    + Experience operating AWS services such as Fargate/ECS, Lambda, EC2, EFS, and ELB

    + Proficient with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch

    + Advanced skills using Azure DevOps for source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and release management

    + Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

    + Proven team player who remains calm under pressure, especially during production outages

    + Scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash

    + Integration experience with external SaaS systems

    + Front-end development using ReactJS

    + Experience with Docker containerization

    + Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

    SCOPE OF SERVICES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Manage deployments of applications across production and non-production environments

    + Troubleshoot and triage application issues

    + Resolve service tickets based on priority and escalate when necessary

    + Enhance application security and performance where applicable

    + Utilize AWS or other cloud provider tools for monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting

    + Work with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps for code integration and delivery

    + Perform root cause analysis and implement defect fixes and enhancements

    + Use quality and security tools for static and dynamic analysis of source code

    + Create and maintain technical documentation including system architecture and operational procedures

    + Participate in technical reviews related to configuration, code quality, and performance
