    Position Overview:

    The Dietary Aide will be responsible for maintaining hospitality oriented work environment throughout the shift. The Dietary Aide will assist serving of all meals to patients throughout the hospital, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and chart the intake of patient meal as required by department policy. The Dietary Aide performs food preparation and storage, serving of meals, and the storing snacks, cleaning, and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and follow department policy and procedure. The Dietary Aide performs a wide variety of physical and manual task related to the preparation and serving of food, as well as, sanitation of equipment and area. The Dietary Aide may be assigned to patient food service, cafeteria service, or catering, and may be assigned to relieve in other areas. Must be aware of service requirements for the age specific patient groups. The Dietary Aide should be crossed trained and able to fulfill most of the work assignments as the workload or scheduling requires. Seeks clarification from Director, Clinical Manager or Diet Tech the Dietary Aide has questions or needs clarification.

     

    **Job Description** :

    EXPERIENCE:

    The Dietary Aide must have previous Food service experience.

     

    Experience in an acute care hospital is highly desirable.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    This position requires knowledge of tray line, special diets, tray delivery, dish machine operation, sanitation, food handling practices, cash handling and infection control.

     

    The ability to do simple math used in food recipes and cash reconciliation.

     

    The ability to read write and understand and communicate effectively in English.

     

    The ability to follow oral and written directions.

    Pay Range is $28.29 to $32.16 / hour
