Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of diagnostic pediatric imaging with significant experience in fetal MRI and US. A subspecialty clinical expertise in fetal imaging including both US and MRI is necessary. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The applicant will be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or equivalent with a CAQ or equivalent in Pediatric Radiology. Fellowship training in pediatric radiology or demonstration of equivalent experience is necessary. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision of residents and fellows, lecturing to medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and trainees from other departments, and teaching during readouts and conferences. The candidate will also participate in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical subspecialties. Additionally, they will prepare learning materials, lectures, teaching posters, and presentations for national and international conferences.
Clinical responsibilities may include clinical coverage in the areas of pediatric radiography, Ultrasound (US), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as well as coverage of teleradiology services including at the Specialty Centers when necessary. The candidate will also be assigned to in-house coverage on evenings, nights and weekends. We are seeking candidates with a national reputation for clinical excellence.
Research or scholarship responsibilities include research in the area of Fetal Imaging including Ultrasound and providing mentorship to aspiring junior faculty seeking to develop a research career in the field of fetal imaging. We are seeking highly experienced candidates who have established a reputation as experts in the field and have a demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed scholarship and collaboration. Experience in mentoring students and/or junior faculty will be considered an important strength.
The Chief of the Division of Fetal Imaging reports directly to the Radiologist-in-Chief and Chair. They are expected to oversee fetal MRI and US imaging while building strong working relationships within the Divisions of Body Imaging and Neuroradiology. The Chief will manage full-time, and per-diem members of the Divisions of Fetal Imaging and is also responsible for the recruitment, development, mentorship, and retention of a diverse group of faculty, which include members of fetal and body imaging. Leadership within the Department of Radiology is a key aspect of this position; candidates with previous leadership experience and who are dedicated to practicing in a dynamic environment are highly desired.
The holder of the position of Chief of the Division of Fetal Imaging will be recommended for the Beverly Coleman Endowed Chair in Fetal Imaging.
