    Job Title:Associate Medical Director – Residential Services

     

    Employment Type:Full-Time, Salary Exempt.

    Job Summary:

    FLACRA is seeking a dedicated and experiencedAssociate Medical Directorto join our Residential Services team. Under the supervision of the Vice President of Medical Services—and in collaboration with the Executive VP of Clinical Operations and Medical Director—you will play a vital leadership role in delivering integrated behavioral health and substance use treatment across our residential programs.

     

    In this role, you will provide clinical supervision and direct care, guide multidisciplinary teams, and help shape the vision and strategy of our residential programs. You’ll work closely with staff to ensure services are person-centered, trauma-informed, and aligned with OASAS standards. This is a unique opportunity to lead with purpose while making a direct impact on the lives of individuals in recovery.

    Must-Have Qualifications:

    + Licensed in New York State as aPhysician (MD or DO),Nurse Practitioner (NP), orPsychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NPP)

    + Experience treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders

    + Waiver to prescribe Buprenorphine (or willingness to obtain within 4 months of hire)

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

    + Certification by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)

    + Board Certification in Psychiatry with added qualification in Addiction Psychiatry

    + Experience providing clinical leadership in a behavioral health or residential setting

    Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience:

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and multiple service provider agencies.

    + Knowledge of local behavioral health system.

    + Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving and time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis.

    + Knowledge of Electronic record information systems.

    Job Requirements:

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide clinical leadership for all medical services in residential programs

    + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality, person-centered care

    + Oversee medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox protocols, and psychiatric care

    + Approve treatment plans, client admissions, and discharges in accordance with clinical standards

    + Supervise and mentor medical staff, supporting ongoing education and development

    + Guide program development and quality improvement efforts in partnership with leadership

    + Ensure compliance with OASAS standards, HIPAA, 42 CFR, and all federal/state regulations

    + Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning

    + Offer consultation on complex clinical cases and medical concerns

    + Support alignment between residential programs and overall agency mission
