    Short Description

    As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will lead a team of finance professionals. You and your team will support multiple projects in accounting and finance related functions. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to both operations managers and executive management. The Senior Financial Analyst position requires strong leadership skills, relentless ambition for continuous improvement, and polished technical and soft skills.

     

    District Overview

     

    Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We do self-performance work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.

     

    Location

     

    This position sits in an office in Phoenix, AZ, and is in office, full time.

    Responsibilities

    • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.

    • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

    • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.

    • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

    • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.

    • Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.

    • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.

    • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.

    • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

    • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.

    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Grow financial performance through analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends

    • Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives

    • Develop financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting

    • Aid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes

    • Reconcile existing transactions through cross-referencing of incoming and outgoing data

    • Conduct comparable analysis and market research to support internal financial analysis

    • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and trends

    Qualifications

    • At least 5+ years’ experience in financial reporting and/or data analysis within a large (> $1 billion annual revenues), complex multinational organization

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Analytics, Data Visualization, Statistics, Finance, or related field

    • Knowledge utilizing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) to prepare financial reporting and forecasts

    • Expert knowledge utilizing the Microsoft Office 365 software suite to prepare and/or supplement financial reporting, forecasts, and analyses

    • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
