Position Title:

Job Responsibilities:
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Administrative Coordination
+ Immunization and Tuberculosis Compliance Process
+ Serve as resource for New York State and RIT immunization and tuberculosis requirements
+ Prepare PyraMED reports - run compliance reports, assess discrepancies, communicate with team regarding population responses
+ Lead outreach efforts to students not yet in compliance
+ Oversee Insurance information collection and utilization
+ Under guidance of Administrative Supervisor, responsible for implementation of scanning/indexing and quality assurance processes
+ Assist Application Administrator with testing/piloting activities and periodic system updates
+ Generate special reports/queries from EMR or other sources as requested including annual immunization compliance report and service utilization statistics (distinct visits, no show/cancellation information, outcome studies, data analyses, visits by diagnosis, provider, etc.)
Public Health Response
+ Administrative resource and support for coordinated health and safety actions as directed by the Population Health Leader
Clinical Staff Support under direction from Administrative Supervisor
+ Oversee and delegate as appropriate the distribution of key information related to stat and routine lab reports, radiology reports, and hospital/private provider office information
+ On a 3 year cycle, oversee updates to the EMR training guide
Department Leadership Administrative Support
+ Support monthly Inventory process
+ Act as resource person for equipment e.g. Tiger Chat, fax machine, photocopier, shredder
+ Act as SHC resource for EMS to reserve SHC conference room
+ Key inventory
+ Support management team e.g. calendaring, minutes
Wellness Staff Assistant Roles
+ Provide a warm, welcoming and helpful atmosphere in which to receive, assist and/or communicate with students/parents/visitors/telephone contacts. Maintain a “customer friendly” demeanor—in person, by telephone, and electronically
+ Maintain and balance cash drawer/daily batch in accordance with Institute and Center policies and procedures
+ Provide “check-out” assistance to students and providers including accepting payment for services, invoice/post amounts properly in EMR, make follow-up appointments, provide directions to off-campus sites, etc.
+ Verify electronic health forms, mailings and data input, etc.
+ Answer questions from students and parents regarding NYS immunization law and RIT requirements.
+ Provide assistance with cross-trained support functions as needed/directed including opening and closing of Center as required; cross coverage of support functions in all areas of the department including CaPS/Wellness

Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
+ Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
+ 2 years related experience working in a medical setting
Skills
+ Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences
+ Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn
+ Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals and to promote a positive work environment
+ Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
+ Computer competence using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Administrative Supervisor, the Senior Staff Assistant in the Health Center facilitates individual student access to health services and engages in population health activities including immunization and tuberculosis compliance. They have primary responsibility for running and responding to scheduling needs and reports related to student access. As well, this individual supports the departmental leadership team and communication technology within the department. Position requires a high degree of situational awareness and the ability to step into wellness staff assistant (front desk) roles when needed.
_Please note: This position requires to work occasional evenings (10:30am-7 pm) and weekends during orientation activities/open houses/wellness programs_
