    Your Opportunity

    Stantec is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Consultant in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Project Controls Professional at Stantec, you will apply skills in schedule, cost controls, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional, design and construction environment. The individual would be responsible for providing program and project controls expertise to improve Stantec’s delivery of Programs. They may be responsible for managing a staff of professionals and technicians for successful completion of project controls activities. The position will be responsible for program/project controls activities and will support program efforts by coordinating with program management staff

     

    Your Key Responsibilities

    Responsible for supporting the consultant team in developing, updating and tracking the Program’s costs and schedule, and producing Program reports, as well as maintaining associated systems and tools, including:

    Assist with Program Controls activities. These activities may include the following functions

     

    * Developing and implementing project controls standards and procedures, monitor compliance and initiate corrective measures as necessary.

    * Develop and maintain a program schedule

    * Review and analyze the Consultant and Contractor schedules; providing suggestions for improvement

    * Develop monthly budget updates and assist the Deputy Program Manager with the cash flow projections

    * Communicating areas of concern to Program Leadership Team.

    * Manage data collection, development and update of dashboards to display information and assess performance against KPIs.

    * Represent project controls tasks in meetings with client, subcontractors, and others, as required.

    * Prepare reports that outline the program/project’s financial position in the areas of funding and costs

    * Provide QA/QC of monthly budget forecasts to prepare monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) updates

    * Support maintenance of multi-year program baseline budget and cash flow projection of financial needs based on current schedules

    * Track Program expenditures and monitor Program cash flow

    * Assist in the development of Key Performance Indicators (Metrics) for the program as directed by the owner. Develop reporting dashboards and reports as requested.

    * Develop periodic reports to track quality, risk, and safety.

    * Support preparation of internal and external Program Status Reports and dashboards as required on the client’s Program Management Information System (PMIS), as applicable

    * Support the maintenance of business processes, systems, and tools to enable project controls functions to be sustained over the life of the Program

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    * Understanding of project control concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others

    * Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions

    * Demonstrated experience in analyzing financial data, cost control analysis, budget development and reporting

    * Experience with Cost Management services including cost control, planning, earned value analysis, forecasting, report production, cash flow maintenance & change management

    * Experience with CPM schedule systems and application.

    * Experience with document control systems

    * Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule

    * Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

    * Expertise in using Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat, with an emphasis on advanced Excel experience, including pivot tables, formula creation and refining

    * Experience in Primavera P6 is required and advanced use is desired

    * Experience in PMIS software, such as eBuilder, PMWeb, Procore, Aconex or similar experience desired

    * Experience working within virtual collaborative work environments

    * Experience working on complex multi-discipline infrastructure capital programs/projects

    * Experience working with collaborative platforms such as SharePoint is preferred

    Education and Experience

    * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or related field

    * Minimum 10 years of experience in financial analysis, budget management and/or project cost and schedule controls
