    Description

    Position: Critical Access Hospital Clinical Excellence Program Manager

     

    Duties: Responsible for leading the Quality & Patient Safety and Infection Prevention Programs for primarily Peace Island Medical Center and United General Medical Center. Provide subject matter expertise for remote hospital quality. Lead Quality Management System ensure alignment between goals and community needs across both inpatient and outpatient services. Establish best practices and processes to reduce and eliminate hospital acquired infections, incorporate vaccination and prevention strategies, and methods of surveillance and reporting of infection rates. Responsible for Infection Prevention goals. Conduct surveillance of healthcare acquired infections. Educate caregivers on infection prevention. Develop policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection prevention and control standards. Ensure regulatory compliance with CMS, accreditation, and requirement (including) Plan and manage priorities, provide technical assistance, monitor team projects, mentor staff and leaders, and assist with training and goal setting. Lead and support clinical improvement projects. Co-chair for Quality Management Committee. Develop and implement the annual Quality Plan. Monitor performance and document improvement initiatives. Implement and oversee patient safety improvements, participating in patient safety reviews and develop action plans and monitoring effectiveness. Collect, analyze, and report infection data based on risk assessment and regulatory requirements. Consult with architects and facilities leaders for remodeling and new construction to assure designs meet or exceed infection prevention requirements and standards, and to prepare Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA). Take actions in emergent situations to establish control and spread of outbreak.

     

    Majority of work will occur at the hospitals in Friday Harbor, Washington, and Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Monthly travel to Bellingham, WA, and quarterly travel to Vancouver WA required. Remote support provided to team in Ketchikan, AK.

     

    Salary from: $130,915.20 per year

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Medical Technology Program (American Society for Clinical Pathology), or related field (foreign equivalent accepted).

     

    Experience: 2 years’ experience in a healthcare, public health, or similar environment as an Epidemiologist, Infection Preventionist, Research Assistant or similar role

    Skills/Requirements:

    + Experience and knowledge in infection prevention practices, microbiology, epidemiology, and adult learning (any amount).

    + All Experience, skills, and requirements may be gained concurrently.

    + Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.

    + Employment will be contingent upon passing background check and drug test.
