    Position Overview

This is a pivotal role for a technically strong, process-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment.     Responsibilities

    + Lead SCADA and automation projects from concept to implementation, including architecture, system design, integration, and commissioning.

    + Serve as technical and strategic advisor for utility clients—especially in T&D and Hydro—providing guidance on SCADA systems, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance.

    + Manage full project lifecycles including scope, budget, timelines, resource coordination, and risk mitigation.

    + Drive consistency in engineering processes and deliverables across projects and teams.

    + Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (PMs, engineers, business developers) and external partners (clients, vendors, contractors).

    + Deliver client-facing presentations and technical proposals, supporting the business development team.

    + Develop and optimize control logic, communication protocols, and data acquisition strategies.

    + Support system diagnostics,retrofits,and upgrades across utility automation platforms.

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NERC CIP, and promote cybersecurity awareness across systems.

    + Contribute to internal initiatives related to process improvement, technical leadership, and team growth.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience); PE license preferred.

    + 15+ years of experience in SCADA engineering, with strong exposure to utility T&D, Hydro, and control system consulting.

    + Proven ability to manage large programs and technical teams, particularly in a consulting or client-facing capacity.

    + In-depth knowledge of SCADA protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA) and industrial communication networks (RS-232/485, TCP/IP, fiber).

    + Proficiency with system integration, PLC/RTU configuration, HMI development, and data acquisition systems.

    + Ability to interpret and communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    + Strong organizational skills and experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

    + Familiarity with power system schematics, telemetry, and solar PV or distributed generation is a plus.

    + Excellent verbal/written communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.

    The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited toeducation, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
