Job Description
Investor Relations at USB includes a competitive intelligence function responsible for the development of detailed peer bank industry analysis and comparative assessments against the Company’s highly diversified and successful operating model. The Competitive Intelligence Senior Analyst will support the Company’s broader Corporate Finance mandate, which includes highly collaborative and critical Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Economic Analysis functions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
+ Assist Director of Competitive Intelligence in maintaining constant coverage of industry-related news, trends, and developments and disseminate insights when appropriate to internal stakeholders.
+ Support the development of front-to-back thematic, market, and company research that identify and evaluate key strategic trends, market dynamics, key stakeholder strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with various focus areas and businesses across the firm.
+ Draft internal analytical research reports including, alerts, company updates, industry notes, sell-side coverage analyst analysis and/or target shareholder prospecting
+ Support management’s interactions with institutional investors by providing analytical insights related to key topics and areas of focus.
+ Support all preparations for industry and company-sponsored events/conferences, as needed
+ Stays abreast of trends in business conditions and fiscal/monetary policy that could affect the broader macro environment or USB specifically
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, financial engineering, accounting, statistic, econometrics, or equivalent work experience
- Typically eight or more years of related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
-Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) and/or CFA charger designation preferred
- 2+ years relevant experience in capital markets, investment research, investment banking corporate finance, consulting or a related field
- Industry knowledge of banking, consumer finance, capital markets, payments/fintech
- Strategic self-starter, detail-oriented, resourceful, independent critical thinker
- Strong analytical writing skills
- Ability to work independently while also capable of delivering in a team-oriented environment
- Good listening, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Competency in accounting, financial modeling, and an aptitude toward financial markets
- Comfortable with initiating contact and interacting with senior executive management

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
