    The Office of the Provost at Farmingdale State College seeks a highly professional, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to serve as Executive Assistant to the Provost. This position provides a comprehensive range of academic and administrative support services crucial to the effective functioning of the academic leadership team. The Executive Assistant to the Provost plays a key role in supporting the Provost, facilitating academic processes, managing compliance-related communications, representing the Office of the Provost on committees, and helping ensure a productive team environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide administrative supervision for professional, clerical, and technical staff assigned to the Office of the Provost.

    + Serve as the liaison to the Admissions and Academic Standards Committee.

    + Coordinate with the SUNY Provost's Office and the New York State Education Department for program registration and compliance.

    + Manage and track processes related to faculty reappointments, continuing appointments, sabbaticals, reduced loads, promotions, and department chair designations.

    + Update and maintain articulation agreements, affiliations, and hiring request approvals.

    + Represent the Provost's Office on committees, including coordination of the Chancellor's Awards process.

    + Participate in the Expanded Dean's Council and assist in the implementation of academic initiatives directed by the Provost.

    + Foster effective interdepartmental collaboration and support both faculty and student relations.

    Job Requirements:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in higher education or a closely related field.

    + Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

    + Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle challenging interactions with diplomacy.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Master's Degree

    + Experience working in a Provost's Office or comparable senior leadership setting.

    + Familiarity with academic enterprise systems such as Banner, Degree Works or other software that supports and manages the academic functions of a college.

    + Experience working at a SUNY Institution.

    + Familiarity with New York State Education Department program registration protocols.

    + Supervisory experience in a higher education setting.

    + Experience managing academic catalogs, articulation agreements, or academic standards documentation.

    + Participation in student-centered service initiatives and/or community engagement efforts.

    Additional Information:

    This is a full-time M/C position.

     

    + CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled

    + SALARY: $80,000/year, may increase commensurate with experience
