    Responsibilities

    Role Responsibilities:

    + The ACNO assists the CNO in strategic workforce planning, management of resources and oversight of regulatory readiness and patient safety in alignment with our mission, vision and values.

    + The ACNO will have operational responsibility for a group of patient care areas. These patient care areas will be identified based on candidate experience and growth opportunities identified.

    + The ACNO will have responsibility for delegated special projects that support operational efficiency, consumer experience and quality indicators.

    + The ACNO will develop communication, knowledge, leadership and business skills necessary to advance to the CNO role.

    + You will, in collaboration with the CNO, formulate policies and procedures consistent with recognized standards of professional practice and reflecting the intent of regulatory standards and maintain authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing services

    + You will ensure that continuous performance improvement initiatives are designed to measure and improve the quality of care delivered and are consistent with the organization priorities

    + You will work collaboratively with other patient care and support departments, fostering a climate of open communication and mutual problem solving activities. Initiates and participates in joint performance improvement activities.

    + You will assist in managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs.

    + You will assume primary responsibility for projects or task groups as assigned, keeping colleagues informed of the progress toward desired outcome.

    + You will actively participate with others in planning activities associated with design or implementation of renovation or new construction of patient care areas

    + You will collaborate with nursing educators to ensure that identified learning needs of the nursing staff are promptly addressed and that orienteers receive the proper preparation to become independent practitioners.

    + You will develop and maintain close working relationships with physician colleagues and other healthcare providers in assigned areas. Collaborates with these individuals to set goals for the areas or develops action plans for patient care or system improvements.

    + You will perform other duties as assigned.

    Role Competencies and Experience:

    + Advanced knowledge of the healthcare environment e.g., clinical practice, care delivery models, policy, patient safety, quality improvement, utilization and risk management, workforce management.

    + Working knowledge of hospital finances including operational and clinical levers, budgeting, and reimbursements.

    + Demonstrated experience with relationship management, building a high functioning team and trust across departments, creating a strong culture and diverse environment and driving a high engagement environment.

    + Experience bringing strategies to the CNO that will advance our mission, leading procedural and operational areas at the Director level in a hospital setting while also managing additional responsibilities.

    + Demonstrated achievement of quality outcomes through the implementation of data-driven processes. Advanced knowledge of process improvement methodologies.

    + Working knowledge of tactics for ongoing regulatory readiness including patient safety indicators as well as overseeing nursing practice and competencies.

    + Experience leading leaders with demonstrated ability to indirectly lead change through middle managers, influence and collaborative relationships.

    + Demonstrated ability to improve and sustain exceptional consumer experience through hardwired tactics.

    + Demonstrated experience with workforce planning and retention as well as frontline professional development tactics.

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to take data and translate into actionable strategies catered to the audience. Dynamic oral and written communication skills. Effectively convey thoughts, ideas, and strategic intent, both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders and the community.

    + Comfort with C-suite level interactions and presentations while maintaining relatability and accessibility to frontline leaders and associates.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

    Education:

    + Master's degree required.

    Work Experience:

    + 5 years of experience required.

    + 10 years of experience preferred.

    + 2 years of leadership or management experience required.

    + 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

    Additional Preferences

    + 5+ years of experience in management and supervisory nursing role; most recent 3 of the last 5 years of leadership must have been in a direct leadership role in a hospital.

    + Prefer 3+ years of Director level experience in a hospital setting.
