    Description

    Our client, a non-profit based in Newark, NJ is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Assistant Controller on a contract basis. The Assistant Controller will support the monthly/yearly close processes, prepare financial statements and monthly financial reports, analyze departmental financial reports, review journal entries, and maintain fixed assets. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will ensure compliance with GAAP, maintain internal controls, and assist with streamlining processes. Proficiency with MS Dynamics and Excel are required, as is recent experience working in the non-profit sector.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting management

    • Knowledge of MS Dynamics and Microsoft Excel

    • Proven ability to develop and train teams in financial processes and reporting.

    • Exceptional organizational and team collaboration skills.

    • Strong understanding of internal control systems and financial statement preparation.

    • Experience in non-profit accounting is highly preferred.
