Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Contract Rate: $65+ W2
Salary Upon Conversion: $125,000+ annually

About the Role:
Our client, a leading name in the publishing industry, is seeking an experienced AI Developer to join their innovation and product development team. This role will focus on creating AI-driven solutions to enhance digital content delivery, automate editorial workflows, personalize user experiences, and integrate intelligent automation across publishing platforms. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the intention of converting to a full-time position within 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models to support content tagging, summarization, recommendation engines, and NLP applications.
+ Collaborate with product managers, editors, and engineers to identify opportunities for AI integration in publishing workflows.
+ Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and training datasets from diverse content sources (e.g., articles, metadata, user behavior).
+ Fine-tune and implement LLMs (e.g., GPT, BERT) for editorial automation and search optimization.
+ Implement prompt engineering best practices for generative AI use cases.
+ Monitor and evaluate model performance, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and continuous improvement.
+ Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability within the digital publishing space.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of experience developing AI/ML solutions, with strong Python skills.
+ Experience with NLP libraries (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers) and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
+ Solid understanding of generative AI and LLMs; experience working with OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, or similar APIs is a plus.
+ Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Pandas, Apache Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
+ Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, product, and engineering teams.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in content technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous experience in media, publishing, or digital content industries.
+ Familiarity with recommendation engines, computer vision, or conversational AI.
+ Understanding of ethical AI principles and bias mitigation techniques.
