Description
We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This role will focus on overseeing production cost calculations, managing inventory, and supporting cost accounting operations across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach to optimize cost management processes.
Responsibilities:
+ Establish and manage standard costs for finished goods, semi-finished goods, raw materials, and aging inventory across Proximo Distillers and subcontractor facilities.
+ Support cost accounting initiatives for additional facilities within the organization, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
+ Compute production costs for raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods, ensuring proper financial documentation and postings.
+ Track production costs and variances, delivering comprehensive monthly analysis reports.
+ Generate timely cost variance reports and perform detailed analyses to assist senior management in decision-making.
+ Execute month-end production close processes and provide variance analysis to explain deviations from standard costs.
+ Oversee inventory management activities, including cycle counts and physical inventories for raw materials and finished goods.
+ Collaborate with operations teams to manage obsolete and discontinued inventory items while ensuring process alignment.
+ Partner with product development, operations, and marketing teams to support new product launches and special initiatives.
+ Address discrepancies in raw material pricing and purchase orders, working closely with accounts payable to ensure resolution.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within manufacturing or related industries.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Epicor, Crystal Reports, and ERP platforms.
• Strong understanding of standard and manufacturing cost accounting principles.
• Experience with variance analysis and inventory management processes.
• Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights to management.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and auditing practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
