    As a temporary Nursing Supervisor at UP Health System - Portage, you will have a significant impact on the patients and staff that you interact with on a daily basis. You will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and staff in providing high-quality, professional, and compassionate patient care. You will be a key player in the orientation, training, coaching, and development of nursing staff, and you will assess and ensure quality services are delivered. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a skilled decision-maker, and committed to mentoring and developing staff.

    Required Skills:

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

    • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external

    Position Requirements:

    State of Michigan RN licensure required

     

    Associates degree in nursing required

    Bachelors of science in nursing preferred

    2 years of acute care experience required

     

    Critical care experience preferred

     

    Supervisory experience preferred

     

    BLS, TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required (Available Upon Hire)

     

    Annual influenza vaccination or declination required

    Position Details:

    Temporary 0.6 – 0.9 FTE (24-36 hours per week)

     

    Night/day - 12 hour shifts

     

    Every 3rdWeekend
