    Position is located:Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital

     

    Work Type: Full Time

     

    Hours Per Week: 40.00

     

    Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

    Summary:

    The Manager of DSU and Cath Lab is responsible for the management of a clinical nursing department. This person plans and organizes, the nursing unit and services.

    Responsibilities:

    1.Has responsibility for the scheduling of staff.

    2.Is responsible for the development, implementation, revision, and reporting of Performance Improvement activities.

    3.Responsible for the development and implementation of the departmental capital and operating budgets.

    4.Responsible for the formulation of policies, procedures, and staffing patterns essential to the achievement of a high standard of patient care.

    5.Responsible for the departmental compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and state licensure requirements.

    6.Responsible for coordinating training and ongoing education of staff.

    7.Inspires staff by consistently connecting to purpose.

    8.Holds direct reports accountable for achieving excellence.

    9.Reviews and analyzes patient satisfaction scores and makes changes accordingly to improve patient satisfaction.

    10.Schedules and conducts staff meetings passing along pertinent information as well as safety and financial information.

    11.Completes and delivers timely evaluations for direct report employees.

    12.Ensures staff compliance with safety measures, AR Gould policies, State, OSHA, Federal and Joint Commission Regulations.

    + Maintain a safe environment for healthcare workers, patients, and/or visitors complying with NLH policies and procedures; review, document and address all incidents and safety violations within area of responsibility; report all lost time due to reported work injuries within 24 hours to local HR BP or Safety contact; support and facilitate open and non-punitive communication among NLH employees, non-employed healthcare workers, patients and visitors, reporting and addressing patient and environmental safety concerns.

    Other Information:

    LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:RN required.

     

    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: If RN, all Directors and Managers overseeing Clinical areas may be required from time to time to assist with patient care. Due to this potential it is required that prior to administering hands on care nurses in these roles should have current BLS certification, an up to date Skills Check List and depending on departmental specifications a current ACLS and PALS or PEARS certification.

    EDUCATION SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    1.If RN, BLSand ACLS certification

    2.If RN, PALS or PEARS certification recommended

    3.Prefer a Bachelors degree or equivalent managerial experience.

    4.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Word, and

     

    Outlook and Excel.

     

    5.Must be able to work independently, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.

    6.Successful completion of general AR Gould orientation.

    7.Demonstrates strength in customer service and interpersonal skills.

    8.Willingness to accept wide variety of duties.
