Job Title: Manager, Environmental Services OperationsDepartment: Environmental Services Location: United Memorial Medical Center (Main Hospital only) SUMMARY:Provide direct leadership and guidance to staff to ensure that highest level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained and meets customer expectations. Participate in patient satisfaction efforts and initiatives. Assist with federal and state requirements and accreditation compliance. Represent the department in appropriate hospital committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operation Excellence
+ Attends on going staff development and training courses as offered by company and facility to develop better leadership skills.
+ Ensure and maintains a safe work environment at all times. Partners with the workers compensation team regarding areas of opportunity to continue to keep staff safe.
+ Proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns; timely follow-up required.
+ Monitor department Regulatory compliance and educates staff appropriately.Customer Relations
+ Monitor service levels in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action on client concerns/comments.
+ Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action when needed.People Management
+ Direct activities of department Team Leaders.
+ Performance Manages employees. Discipline team members when necessary according to progressive disciplinary guidelines.
+ Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation.
+ Assign personnel to established work areas of project duties.
+ Reviews duty lists with regular and relief associates periodically.
+ Assign equipment to staff.
+ Participates in interview and selection process.
+ Facilitates department onboarding process.
+ Attend and participate in departmental staff meetings on a scheduled basis.
+ Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to her/her fullest potential.
+ Participates in and sometimes conducts performance evaluations of staff.
+ Ensures that the Environmental Service Department partners with other departments with the patients best interest in mind.
+ Responsible for discipline, promotions and over-time approval.Administration
+ Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained.
+ Ensures duty lists are revised and current at all times.
+ Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance.
+ Participate in facility quality assurance program as required. Ensure high quality percentage of cleanliness is maintained in areas of assigment. Perform quality assurance inspections as assigned.
+ Handles special requests or projects as assigned.
+ Ensures that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals.
+ Approves days off, holidays and vacations, ensuring the facility’s needs are meet in accordance with hours and position controls.
+ Works with Kronos system to manage team members payroll.
+ Ensures housekeeping office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Associates Degree or Equivalent Supervisory Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment
+ MS Windows Word and Excel plus aptitude to learn specialized departmental databases
+ Excellent Verbal & Written and People skills
+ Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
+ Must possess excellent customer service skills
+ Must exhibit self-initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$60,500.00 - $80,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
