    Job Description

    **The Environmental Supervisor** is responsible for the efficient operation of the four waste water pre-treatment facilities (all shifts) and ammo reclamation to ensure that Lewiston Operations achieves compliance with environmental regulations.

     

    This position reports to EHSS Manager and is based at our office in **Lewiston, Idaho.**

    As the Environmental Supervisor, you will:

    + Supervise the daily operations of the department by reviewing process controls and directing appropriate system changes to achieve discharge limits required by Federal /Local agencies.

    + Reviews current compliance for three manufacturing locations in Lewiston, ID and sets short- and long-term goals to improve compliance.

    + Develop strategies to improve culture of environmental compliance within operations departments at location.

    + Assist in the preparation of the documentation required for environmental compliance by keeping current on changing regulations and interaction with Local/State/Federal agencies to reduce short-term and long-term environmental liabilities. This includes updating critical environmental program plans and discharge permit applications.

    + Supervise Environmental hourly and salary employees by ensuring that department objectives are mutually understood to achieve results that meet the department objectives.

    + Must check in on employees on a routine basis and ensure that all work functions are being performed as required by their specified job functions.

    + Must be able to lead with the upmost servant leadership style. Giving work direction to direct reports in a professional manner that is easily understood. Must be able to communicate to employees in both verbal and written forms as necessary.

    + Prepare and manage the Environmental department budget(s) by approving/denying expenditure requests and review status of budget to keep department costs within budget and reduce operation costs. Identify short and long-term needs of the department, adjust budget as necessary.

    + Assists in the coordination of outside Engineers, Consultants, andContractors for special projects and assists as liaison for Federal Cartridge Co. with local government agencies by keeping current on changing regulations and interaction with Local/State/Federal agencies to reduce short-term and long-term environmental liabilities.

    + On occasion, must be able to prepare appropriations requests and coordinate with outside engineers and contractors to complete capital projects on-time and on-budget.

    + Plan and conduct training for Environmental Department personnel, personnel in other departments, and with outside contractors.

    + Participate in any corporate environmental audits at other internal facilities, as requested.

    + Performs on site audits to ensure compliance with all RCRA, CAA, CWA, and NPDES regulations

    + Provide environmental direction and solutions to production and support departments and plant leadership.

    + Participate in chemical approval process and manage all PES initiatives as they pertain to the department.

    + Collect and track data relative to water and energy use.

    + Track raw materials, PMs, work orders, purchase orders, repairs and other department items as necessary.

    + Act as the primary project manager on all large projects for the environmental departments.

    You will have:

    + High School diploma and a minimum of 2 years of college level education are required.

    + A minimum of 2-4 years of direct leadership experience.

    + Consistently accurate record keeping skills with a high attention to detail.

    + Must possess a solid understanding of environmental regulations, wastewater processes and project management.

    + Good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to gain a sound working relationship with Regulatory personnel.

    + Good math skills with the ability to recognize improbable results.

    + Possess the ability to organize, to handle multiple tasks, and to direct and motivate people in a positive manner.

    + Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience.

    Work Environment:

    Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

    Pay Range:

    $72,000.00 - $100,700.00

     

    The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
