PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for maintaining compliance with the applicable laws and IDEX Corporate policies, and mitigating the risk that comes with global trade. Work with forwarders and distributors to ensure all international shipments leave on time and meet compliance requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Use Precision to create shipments that are exported out of the US. Ensure all imports and exports meet requirements to clear US and foreign country customs.
+ Communicate regularly about shipping requirements to shipping associates.
+ Liaison with distributors and freight forwarders throughout shipping process to meet established deadlines, communicate shipping instructions, and any changes and communicates this information to district sales managers, shipping department, and customers.
+ Manage and prioritize the movement of orders on shipment schedule.
+ Manages commercial documents and all other documents as needed for the shipment which include, but are not limited to, invoices, packing slips, letter of credit documents, certificates of origin, and free-trade agreements.
+ Collect new data and maintain comprehensive historical data; analyzing all data and communicating to management relative information and recommendations that could impact future planning.
+ Communicate with district sales manager to help resolve shipments issues.
+ Work on continuous improvement efforts to streamline shipping process including shipping documents, utilizing backlog data to help plan weekly shipments, working with IT to better utilize software for shipping, and identify best practices for freight forwarding.
+ Make export license determinations and file export license applications through SNAP-R.
+ Manage HTS and ECCN database. Keep records of all HTS determinations and review current HTS codes for accuracy.
+ Maintain distributor compliance through by assigning, reviewing, and approving completed documents through Compliance Desktop.
+ Responsible for ensuring that all export orders are screened and cleared through compliance. Run denied parties screening for all customers and suppliers as needed.
+ Download, store, and audit import documents. Work with various custom’s brokers to ensure compliance with US import requirements.
+ Develop export auditing procedures including auditing ITN’s and ERP System including JD Edwards (JDE)/Precision data. Maintain records of all audits.
+ Participate in and support both internal and external Trade Compliance audits. Develop action plans for any findings.
+ Develop, maintain, and update standard work pertaining to compliance and logistics.
+ Manage duty drawback program. Work closely with brokers and send all export and import documentation to file duty drawback claims.
+ Responsible for being knowledgeable on new regulations and relaying information to the Warren Rupp team
+ Maintain US supplier documentation on manufacturing affidavits, free trade documentation, and country of origin on an annual basis.
+ Assist with miscellaneous projects and reporting requests as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ BA/BS preferred.
+ Customs broker license preferred
+ One to five years of logistics and/or Trade Compliance experience. International experience preferred.
+ Experience with JDE operating system preferred
+ Experience with FedEx and UPS Shipping policies and guidelines
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, preferably Microsoft Excel
+ SAP reporting functionality
+ Able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently
+ Knowledge of Import-Export guidelines
+ Ability to work with others and be an active part of a cross functional team
+ Ability to train and promote best practices
+ Planning/organizing prioritizes and planning work activities, using time efficiently and developing realistic action plans
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
+ Office environment- Monday thru Friday. Weekends may be necessary with advance notice
+ Daily communications via Phone, Email, face to face, and Teleconference
+ Prolonged instances of sitting or standing
+ Daily requirements to transport documents and packages from front office to plant floor
+ Work with multiple computer screens and varying systems
