HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START
Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 0 - 5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Children also receive a broad array of health services including screenings and referrals, maintenance of immunization schedules, nutrition assessments and follow-ups, mental health assessments as part of initial screenings, and determination if any developmental or physical delays are present. Children receive health and dental services and have access to ongoing and acute and routine health and dental care. Enrolled children receive healthy meals, along with an assessment of their nutritional needs and the necessary follow-ups. Nutrition education is available for parents and incorporated into daily classroom activities for the children.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Family and Community Engagement (FCE) Coordinator conducts social services planning and intra-agency procedure formulation. They also act as a liaison for community partnerships, support in mobilization of community resources, partners in client advocacy; The FCE Coordinator supervises the preparation and updating of the annual social services area plan in cooperation with staff and parents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, and activities designed to implement the agency-s mission, objectives, and performance standards. Assist and support staff in providing and/or referring to appropriate services for families with problems of an emergent or crisis nature. Assist in the design, development, and delivery of in-service training programs and orientations for the staff. Design and deliver training and ongoing technical assistance to staff on Child Plus documentation.
+ Develop, coordinate, coach, and train Family Advocates on the family partnership process for Strengths and Needs Screening Tools, Individual Family Partnerships, heat maps, and referral process.
+ Ensure that program monitoring is taking place in sufficient and regular intervals in order to maintain compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Maintain and provide regular reports on all family services information.
+ Serve as the agency-s liaison to establish and maintain formal communication with public and private social service agencies. Maintain a formal system of follow-up of family referrals to community service agencies to assure the satisfactory provision of such services to families
+ Provide leadership in ensuring continuous quality improvements and elements are made for program improvements. Review data sources and incorporate data analysis as part of the program planning.
+ Participate in school readinessand the development and implementation of the School Readiness Plan as part of an integrated leadership team. Participate in the ongoing self-assessment of the program, prepare corrective action plans, and complete PIR report information.
+ Conduct periodic personnel evaluations as required by agency personnel policies and procedures. Create alignment discussions for staff to ensure goals are being met
+ Other duties as may be needed to fulfill program requirements
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
+ Proof at the time of hire
+ TB clearance within 6 months- prior
+ Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 - Dec 1)
+ Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization
+ Health screening at the time of employment
+ Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to:
+ Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Frequently kneel and squat
+ Ability to move quickly
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor-s Degree from a recognized college or university in a field of social work or related field.
+ Six (6) semester units of course work in administration and supervision in social services agencies or one year-s experience as a supervisor in a social service agency.
EXPERIENCE:
+ Two to three years- work-related experience in a social services or family services setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience in Head Start/Early Head Start
+ Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
+ Ability to read and analyze data from various sources.
