JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

DUTIES: Maintain and develop pipelines for deployment of software systems to AWS and Azure, using Gitlab, and Terraform Research. Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems related to the company’s R&D internal development platform. Work through all phases of software development including software architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment. Work closely with application software architects to design software systems that are scalable, maintainable, and in-line with both industry and 7-Eleven's best practices and standards. Develop libraries and reusable systems for enabling common application development tasks in the department, such as Unit Testing, with Frameworks like Jest, and E2E Testing; with Frameworks like Cypress; and Application Monitoring using tools like Elasticsearch, NewRelic, or Datadog. Maintain core software infrastructure used by teams within 7-Eleven R&D to develop both POC projects and production-grade applications. Provide guidance to software teams (both application teams, and the platform team) through the implementation of the software-development life cycle, including application discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. Work with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Gitlab CI, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure and deployment, cloud provider products like Azure, CI/CD pipelines, programming languages like JavaScript and Typescript.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years of experience building production-grade applications in one of the following domains: Full-stack web applications, Mobile Application, IoT, Linux Systems Administration, Data Engineering, or Data Science. Experience therein to include 3 years of experience in software development, including full stack development using TypeScript and frameworks including Angular, NestJS, and React. 3 years of experience working with all phases of software development including software architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment. 3 years of experience with unit and end-to-end testing frameworks including Jest and Cypress. 3 years of experience building REST APIs, and working with cloud infrastructure and deployment including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GitLab CI, and Terraform. 3 years of experience working with a cloud provider, including Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. 3 years of experience building CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab CI, Github Workflows, Azure Devops, VSTS, or Jenkins. 3 years of experience with at least two of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Typescript, Java, Python, Bash, or Golan. 3 years of experience with at least one of the following infrastructure-as-code frameworks: Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation, Amazon CDK, or Azure Resource Manager.

In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 3 years of experience building production-grade applications in one of the following domains: Full-stack web applications, Mobile Application, IoT, Linux Systems Administration, Data Engineering, or Data Science.
