    Overview:

    Supports releasing collateral on accounts that are paid in full and active to support the Commercial Bank, Business Banking, and Leasing business lines.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Review and research requests from business partners, attorneys, and title companies and obtain appropriate authority to release various types of collateral as outlined in the request. Collateral types include real estate, assets covered under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), vehicles, investment accounts, deposits, aircrafts, ships, patents, trademarks, etc.

    + Execute instructions provided by more experienced personnel.

    + Communicate with internal and external business partners throughout the release process as required.

    + Send documents to business partners, customers, third parties, or to various jurisdictions for recording as instructed.

    + Use third party vendor software to help research and facilitate release requests.

    + Remove holds or generate letters to remove holds on internal accounts.

    + Remove exceptions as appropriate.

    + Remove accounts from insurance tracking.

    + Update key tracking systems with release information.

    + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

    + Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

    + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

    + Complete other related duties as assigned.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    This team uses the collateral tracking system, internal databases, Filenet, county web sites, and works closely with internal business partners, title companies, and attorneys to meet customer requests. Requests have to be thoroughly analyzed to make sure collateral supporting other loans is not released and that requests are properly authorized with the appropriate amount of credit authority. Release requests include real estate, assets covered under the Uniform Commercial Code, vehicles, deposits, investments, aircrafts, ships, and other collateral types.

    Supervisor/Managerial Responsibilities:

    Education and Experience Required:

    Associate’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience

    M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.11 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
