Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a major Satellite company. As part of the System Engineering Department, the Payload Software Verification & Integration System Engineer will be responsible for the End to End verification and validation work required for the integration of software functions on advanced communication payloads and satellites.

Tasks:

The system Engineer will be responsible and participate in the following tasks and activities, depending on the background and experience of the candidate.

Define & develop V&V sequences & Test Plans, test requirements, test matrices & lead Test procedures and automation, as applicable.

Support all SDR Payload system design engineering phases and reviews

Definition of relevant EGSE software features, scripts & documentation

Definition of payload to platform FDIR

Lead Satellite and payload troubleshooting for software features testing including at EGSE level, Test supervision, data analysis, trending

Support the Operations team for Operations Procedures, Operations Manuals, and Satellite test procedures to ensure that the Operations documents and FDIR strategy are aligned with expectations.

Supervise ICDs inputs to the satellite reference DB team for parameters and monitors.

Lead Verification & Validation Matrices for payload software functions and platform FDIR requirements.

Support the operations team as needed for In-Orbit Test (IOT), anomaly resolution + FDIR.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science or in a relevant field

15+ years of relevant practical experience Can be supplemented with higher degrees relevant to Engineering.

Knowledge of LEO/MEO satellite systems, RF comms, broadcasting & networking protocols.

Knowledge of C++, Excel, Java, MATLAB, Python, JIRA & Confluence. Previous demonstrated experience in System engineering

Working knowledge of CCSDS & ECSS PUS services

Experience and/or development of SDR payloads or subsystems null
