Description

We are in search of a Tax Manager to join our team in the public industry, based in The Woodlands, Texas, United States. As a Tax Manager, you will be tasked with handling intricate tax preparation, conducting tax research, and devising tax planning strategies. You will also be expected to guide and train staff members on proper procedures and tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Execute tax consulting, including providing clients with potential tax savings recommendations.

• Prepare and review Federal and State tax returns for various entities such as businesses, trusts, estates, and individuals.

• Conduct research on current tax laws and share relevant information with the team.

• Maintain regular and timely communication with clients and respond to their inquiries.

• Handle onboarding of new clients, educating them about tax issues, implications, potential savings, and analysis/results.

• Supervise the tax department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of their work.

• Identify tax errors, devise effective solutions to prevent recurrence, and impart this practical knowledge to the team.

• Assist in the continued development of the tax department staff members through training and education.

• Solve staff and client questions and ensure client deadlines are met.

• Display proficiency in tax returns, including Federal business and individual, Trust, Estate, and all individual State returns.

• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and show proficiency in Microsoft products, especially Excel and Outlook.

• Show interest in tax law and possess strong research skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a tax-related role

• Demonstrated ability to prepare tax returns efficiently and accurately

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online for financial management and tax preparation

• In-depth knowledge of tax law and its application in various scenarios

• Experience in providing tax consulting services to diverse clients

• Outstanding ability to communicate with clients effectively, addressing their concerns and queries promptly
