Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a faculty member to teach Human Resource Management courses beginning January 2026 for the spring semester. This position will be at the rank of Associate Professor of Practice and come with the possibility of both renewal and increased FTE. The teaching assignments will be between one and four sections and may include a variety of classes taught face-to-face and online. ISU is a residential campus so, even if some teaching is online, Iowa residency and regular time on campus throughout the semester is required.
The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship is a vibrant, supportive, and productive group of 40 faculty members (https://www.ivybusiness.iastate.edu/directory/?Department=MGMT&FName=&LName=) (19 tenure-track and 21 term). With research interests spanning the areas of HR, OB, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Management, they have published research in a wide variety of top journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Business Venturing. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Human Resource Management, Management, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare Management, and International Business. The department also offers a Masters in Entrepreneurship and hosts PhD programs in Management as well as Entrepreneurship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
-Masters degree in Management and Entrepreneurship or related field
-At least 15 years of professional HR experience with at least 5 years at a senior level
-Recent or continuing professional engagement as required for AACSB accreditation
Preferred Qualifications:
-Certification and involvement in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
-Previous teaching experience in a corporate or academic setting
-Experience supervising HR professionals
