Description
POSITION PURPOSEThe Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for fostering a learning organization where employees and participants attain their professional and personal goals. The Learning & Development Specialist arranges and delivers on-demand and in-person learning for Goodwill employees, as well as participants in grant-funded initiatives. The position is a member of the Corporate Office team.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
SPECIFIC DUTIES
+ Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
+ Develops training programs and objectives for employees, in coordination with Goodwill department heads, to create a learning culture which positivity impacts retention & internal promotion and increases revenue to support Goodwill’s Mission.
+ Manage, create, and deliver content through company-used learning management systems. This includes online learning for new employees, professional development and compliance training for all employees, and certificates & digital badges for employees and the community.
+ Collaborates with and leverages Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the organization and the community to design and develop curriculum. Ensure that training design and delivery consider varied learning styles and accommodate learners with disabilities.
+ Strategically align training with business goals by delivering learning programs, including training of new staff and ongoing development for managers and all staff.
+ \Develops and delivers training programs in large and small groups to Mission participants in grant-funded initiatives.
+ Engages and partners with community resources to offer extensive learning and development programs to both the community and employees.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to schedule classes around business needs.
+ Manage, create, and deliver content through Seismic® Learning Management System (LMS).
+ Enter training related data into appropriate databases of required and completed training courses.
+ Plans, organizes, and facilitates the order of supplies for employee development and learning events.
+ Contribute to the development and continuous refinement of Goodwill of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia’s learning and development strategy.
+ Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of learning and development events and resources.
+ Receptive to feedback, willing to learn and embrace continuous improvement.
+ Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
+ Works effectively as a team member with other members of all Goodwill departments.
+ Regular attendance is required.
+ Other essential duties as assigned.

Benefit eligibility is tied to whether you are a full-time employee or part-time employee.

Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
+ Must be able to interact with a variety of people.
+ Strong presentation skills.
+ Experience in administration of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
+ Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
+ Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
+ Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
+ Must have and maintain a positive attitude.
+ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
+ Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
+ Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
+ Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other Goodwill employees, donors, and other members of the public.
+ Must possess valid driver’s license in good standing and be able to travel to all designated Goodwill locations as needed.
+ Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
+ All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONBachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3 - 5 years experience in relevant field required. Experience in designing, implementing, and administering learning and development programs is preferred.
