    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Watershed Security is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Design Transition Engineer to join our team supporting the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) N6 Public Safety Systems (PSS) program. You'll be key in ensuring designs are ready for transition, managing the technical aspects of that transition, and maintaining critical documentation and configuration control in support the PSS mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Contribute to technical reviews and meetings, offering insights on design readiness and transition.

    + Perform software/engineering analysis on operational and system requirements, ensuring they're met during implementation and transition.

    + Provide input to system and software engineering design and implementation plans, optimizing for deployment performance.

    + Review and contribute to high-level functional block diagrams and descriptions of PSS systems, including TLDD and modeling tools (UAF, SysML).

    + Draft requirements and architectural white papers to support transition solutions.

    + Provide inputs for Installation Design Packages (IDPs), ensuring complete system installation plans.

    + Support the design, configuration, testing, and operation of testbeds to validate designs pre-production.

    + Define and present risk-benefit tradeoffs at design reviews, especially those impacting transition.

    + Support system configuration and data management efforts, including direct CM process support, 3D modeling (Solid Edge), and creating configuration documents.

    + Provide cyber engineering oversight and expertise on design impacts for system accreditation.

    + Support the development of the Tailored Acquisition Lifecycle and key artifacts like SEP, TEMP, and Cyber Security Plans.

    + Contribute to lifecycle sustainment and End-Of-Life (EOL) planning, providing input for LSCP and other acquisition artifacts.

    + Coordinate with the AIM/Remedy Development Team on integration, change, data, and configuration management tracking from design through end-of-life.

    + Contribute to new technical Interface Control Documents (ICD)/CONOPS for program architecture expansion.

    + Manage and participate in the transition of services, products, and materials to a new contractor, providing necessary guidance and documentation.

    + Conduct engineering analyses for long-range planning, supporting the development of an advanced technology base.

    + Prepare planning documents, such as Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), for installation execution.

    + Compile and provide all applicable current and historical documentation for transitions, including designs, configurations, diagrams, and RMF artifacts.

    + Support Authority To Operate (ATO) Package integration, performing analysis of ATOs/IATOs/IATTs via Navy eMASS, developing integration plans, and advising on STIG implementation.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

    + Seven (7) years of IT professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance.

    + Experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support.

    + Demonstrated ability to consider overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues that may be associated with a project.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

    + Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance.

    + Ability to meet IAT Level II requirements.

    PAY RANGE

    Final salary is influenced by factors such as location, contract labor categories, experience, skills, education, and certifications. Watershed offers competitive compensation, medical and dental benefits, educational reimbursement, 401K plans with matching, 15 days of PTO to start and 11 paid holidays per year.   The proposed salary range for this position is: $110,000 - $130,000 USD
