As a Storage Engineer, you'll install, maintain, and monitor the current corporate SAN infrastructure. You'll also troubleshoot SAN-related issues with other technology teams.
About the role
+ Configure and monitor storage and archival needs
+ Troubleshoot storage issues and engage server engineers, database administrators and application owners when necessary
+ Oversee storage platform connectivity
+ Monitor resource usage and plan for known or predicted growth
+ Fulfill storage, backup and data-protection needs of internal systems
+ Produce and maintain technical documentation
+ Participate in an on-call rotation and work flexible hours

+ Analytical thinker with a creative problem-solving approach
+ Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills
+ Able to produce and maintain clear, technical documentation
+ Proficient in configuring and monitor storage platforms and archival needs
+ Skilled at fulfilling capacity, backup and data-protection needs of internal systems
+ Effective troubleshooter who collaborates with server engineers, database administrators, and application teams
+ Comfortable coordinating with internal stakeholders on solution needs with internal customers
Minimum qualifications
+ Experience designing and building object storage platforms using services with Ceph, and AWS's S3 and EBS
+ Strong proficiency in DevOps practices including source controls (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code [IaC] (Terraform, OpenTufu)
+ Programming/scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, YAML IaC, Ansible, Python, Golang) for automation and scripting
+ Proven ability to build APIs and automations for managing storage resources like self-service consumption models, platform upgrades, buckets, and file shares
+ Experience with Kubernetes clusters (K3s, RKE2, EKS) with a focus on integrating storage platforms using CSI drivers and features
+ Ensure data storage and process operations work efficiently in compliance with organizational security policies and best cloud security practices
+ Experience monitoring resource usage, performance metrics, and plan for known or predicted growth
+ Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and work flexible hours as needed
Preferred qualifications
+ Working knowledge of network file systems, communication flows, and concepts; including NVMeoF, Fibre Channel, CIFS/SMB, and NFS
+ Experience using the following systems: NetApp FAS Series Arrays, NetApp Data ONTAP Cluster, Dell/EMC Isilon & Unity, IBM V7300, and VMware ESXi 7.0/8.0
+ Knowledge of cloud database management and data warehousing
+ Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
+ Understanding of disaster recovery planning and design
