Engineer Senior
**Location:** Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 5800 Northampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502
**Work Hours:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
The **Engineer Senior** maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements gathering meetings.
How you will make an impact:
+ Own the change request process and coordinate with other teams as necessary.
+ Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams.
+ Develop and own list of final enhancements.
+ Develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare technical and/or functional specifications from which programs will be written.
+ Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
+ Own technical testing to ensure unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed, and system is implemented according to plan.
+ Assess current status and support data information planning.
+ Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective monitoring of system.
+ Maintain technical development environment.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentoring and lead small to medium sized projects.
+ Set direction at the project/service level and influence decision-making.
+ Understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs of the technical solutions.
+ Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicate standards and get buy-in on solutions.
+ Facilitate group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
+ Five (5) years of experience in related occupation(s).
+ Five (5) years of experience must include:
+ Five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Java and J2EE technologies including Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Web Flow, Spring Batch, Spring Soap and RESTful Web services and Hibernate; Writing SQL and PL/SQL using DB2 databases; IBM RSA 7/8, WebSphere 7/8, IBM DB2 Clear Case, and Linux/Unix server; Building web applications using JSP, AJAX, JQuery, JSTL, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, and AngularJS; Total Validator, Sonar Qube, SOAP UI; Maven for building applications; and Designing UML documents, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams by referencing business requirement and use case documents created by business analysts.
Alternate Education/Experience Requirements:
Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience. Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the above listed skills.
