    Director I Engineering

    **Location** : Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 2015 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA 23230.

    **Work Hours:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

     

    The **Director I Engineering** is responsible for strategic oversight and delivery of application and system solutions for client group, business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms

     

    **How you will make an impact** :

    + Plan, direct, and control several teams of resources and initiatives to accomplish the objectives and requirements defined by senior technology and product management across multiple teams.

    + Interface with key Information Technology (IT) solution vendors; develop strategies and facilitate performance measurement plans to optimize vendor performance and outcomes.

    + Scope project as needed based on business product expectations and available resources.

    + Manage multiple systems or products of varying capital and level of responsibility and complexity.

    + Lead the budget development process.

    + Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.

    + Identify and resolve hurdles for assigned area/group and deliver according to established deadlines.

    + Direct multiple work functions/applications or major projects/programs with broad scope and strategic business impact.

    + Establish business objectives and integrate operational plans.

    + Engage with customers in order to understand new product as well as enhancements to existing products.

    + Negotiate the resolution of intra-organizational issues in the balanced best interests of the business.

    + Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners.

    + Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.

    + Develop Technology Plan and Forecast for an enterprise application, enterprise-wide tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity, and manage day to day operations for a major portion of a functional area or department.

    + Work with IT Leadership and business to identify new products.

    + This position supervises 5 or more subordinate employees in the roles of: Engineer Lead, Engineer III, System Analyst, Tech Program Manager, Engineer Senior.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related.

    + Seven (7) years of experience in related occupation(s).

    + Seven (7) years of experience in related occupation(s) must include:

    + Seven (7) years of experience working in information technology.

    + Additionally, this position requires experience in each of the following:

    + Seven (7) years of experience with RDMS Database technologies using at least one of the following: Oracle, Microsoft SQL, or Teradata.

    + Five (5) years of experience with ETL technologies using at least one of the following: Informatica, DataStage, or Microsoft SSIS.

    + Five (5) years of experience with data warehousing and data lakes using any of the following: Snowflake, Star, or 3NF.

    + Five (5) years of experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools using at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, or MicroStrategy.

    + Three (3) years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google GCP.

    + Two (2) years of experience with programming language using one of the following: JAVA, Python, or Scala;

    + Two (2) years of experience with Provider data and understanding Provider data systems.

    **Travel Requirement:** Domestic travel up to 10% of time
