Description
ARS is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled SysMLv2 Modeling and Simulation Integration Engineer to support advanced system modeling efforts with a focus on enabling seamless integration between SysMLv2 models and Air Force modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and working knowledge of simulation frameworks such as AFSIM and Coliseum.

Responsibilities include:
+ Model Enrichment for Simulation Integration
+ Collaborate with systems engineers and simulation developers to enrich SysMLv2 models with necessary metadata, schemas, and structured data elements to enable integration with MS&A tools, particularly AFSIM and Coliseum.
+ Define, document, and apply modeling patterns and standards that support traceability and fidelity required for simulation use cases.
+ Tool Development for Model Export
+ Lead the development of a SysMLv2-based utility or plugin that supports the export of model data into simulation-compatible formats, specifically targeting frameworks such as AFSIM and Coliseum.
+ Work with MBSE and simulation tool stakeholders to define export schemas, intermediate representations, and transformation rules.
+ Framework Integration Support
+ Provide technical support for integrating enriched SysMLv2 models with additional external frameworks, tools, or simulation environments.
+ Facilitate interface definitions and data exchange standards to promote interoperability and reuse of model content across diverse platforms.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
Required:
+ Must be a US citizen
+ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred
+ 3+ years of experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with hands-on experience using SysML (preferably SysMLv2).
+ Experience with at least one modeling tool supporting SysMLv2 (e.g., MBSE tools in development or pilot use).
+ Familiarity with Department of Defense simulation frameworks such as AFSIM and/or Coliseum.
+ Experience in data modeling, schema development, or tool integration.
+ Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar) used in tool development or automation.
Desired:
+ Experience with digital thread/digital twin initiatives in defense or aerospace contexts.
+ Knowledge of systems architecture, mission engineering, or enterprise-level modeling.
+ Familiarity with government acquisition processes or standards such as DoDAF, UAF, or MIL-STD-881.
+ Understanding of XML, JSON, or other structured data formats and their application in model transformation.
