We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations, support team efficiency, and ensure safety and compliance at our Norfolk, VA location. The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing inventory databases. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational excellence and team leadership.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Serve as Warehouse and Facilities Lead, ensuring services and tasks are performed per technical and contractual requirements.
+ Maintain and lead a professional team that follows all company and government protocols and procedures.
+ Build and sustain strategic relationships with customers through logistics and warehouse initiatives.
+ Apply insights from customers, competitors, and industry best practices to enhance logistics and warehouse performance.
+ Oversee material receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, procurement, staging, and shipment operations.
+ Plan and organize warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
+ Use government-approved warehouse/management control systems to manage inventory, track usage, and forecast stock needs.
+ Ensure warehouse and storage facilities are clean, organized, and support operational efficiency.
+ Coordinate with Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices (DRMO) or authorized channels for disposal of excess property, in coordination with government representatives.
+ Support management in compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and requirements.
Required Experience:
Required Qualifications and Experience:
+ Minimum of Five (5) years of experience.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and best practices with regards to OSHA practices, MSDS, warehouse safety, supply chain management and inventory control procedures.
+ US Navy Shipboard installation and repair experience is preferred
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Must possess a current SECRET clearance
+ Ability to operate a forklift
+ Valid drivers license is required
+ Knowledge of operation and maintenance of marine propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
+ Skilled in performing technically accurate parts research using construction drawings, logistics documents, technical manuals, and vendor data.
+ Experienced with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
+ Proficient in sourcing, purchasing, staging, and shipping equipment and materials in support of maintenance and modernization initiatives
+ Ability to read and interpret naval blueprints.
+ Familiarity with material MIL-SPECs and military standards.
+ Experienced in material receipt and inspection, warehouse operations, tool and material inventory controls.
+ Accurate and efficient data entry and records management.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
+ Exposure to open-air environments, including noisy, hot, and cold conditions.
+ Required to visit project sites aboard ships and rigs, both onshore and offshore.
+ Must wear various types of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing, eye, head, and hand protection, as required.
+ Site visits may involve standing on a variety of surfaces and angles, bending, crouching, and climbing over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge or boat structural components.
+ Exposure to sound levels exceeding 100 decibels.
+ Must possess sufficient visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision to inspect marine components and systems, identify defects or irregularities, and safely operate tools and equipment.
+ May work in confined spaces with limited ventilation.
+ Requires prolonged periods of sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing.
+ May be required to operate machinery, power tools, and/or heavy equipment.
+ Must be able to lift 30 or more lbs.
