Description
The RME Senior Finance Manager is responsible for NACF and all personnel, parts, repairs, and maintenance (PRM) expenses, and all associated financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tasks in support of RME’s goal of safely maximizing equipment up time in order to deliver for the customer at the lowest cost.
This role partners with RME Directors in charge of the RME support for fulfillment networks. Additionally, this role partners and influences the Central RME organization to ensure goals are met across all business units (NACF, Transportation Services (ATS), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), and Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF)). This includes collaboration associated with Third Party (3P) RME providers finance leadership teams across all business units regarding change management, quarterly business reviews (QBR), and audits.
The ability to learn and be curious while guiding your team through a high degree of complex ambiguity in order to think big while inventing and simplifying for process improvement is mission critical.
Key job responsibilities
- Partnering with RME leadership to make fiscally responsible long-term strategic decisions
- Developing detailed business plans for 3YF, OP2, OP1, and quarterly guidance with high level of accuracy (goal of 95%) in partnership with 50+ stakeholders
- Ownership of the month-end close process which includes providing monthly/quarterly/annual financial narratives to NACF Finance and business partners. This includes providing future guidance and deep diving material variances to plan in order to deliver on commitments
- Developing and maintaining controllership tools and processes that provide cost visibility, are scalable, and are consistent between all business units
- Identifying cost savings initiatives and regularly partnering with RME, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Operations, Global Procurement Organization (GPO), and People Experience & Technology (PXT) to remove barriers and drive implementation
- Using finance and business acumen to generate complex models and analysis in an often-ambiguous environment to educate senior leaders and drive trade-offs for timely decision making

A day in the life
While the FP&A portion of the role is cyclical with MEC (Day 1-5 each month) and budget cycles (5 per year), the opportunity to add value and drive change is seemingly endless. While no two days are ever the same, 85% of your time is focused on core FP&A/controllership tasks, with the other 15% focused on solving complex problems. You will partner with network leaders and deliver data driven insight to affect change and improve cost efficiency for our internal and external customers.

The team supports field RME across all business units within NACF.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience
- 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
- 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
- MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
