    A Snapshot of Your Day

You will contribute to our business’ success, navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while solving various technical challenges relating to gas turbine combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, you will be on the shop floor closely working with the operators to build a robust manufacturing process in anticipation of new product release. You will collaborate daily with design and service engineering colleagues on DFM (design for manufacturing) topics for new and refurbished combustion hardware.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

+ Develop and implement product specific metal joining processes used to manufacture sophisticated gas turbine combustion components.

+ Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated via technical instructions, project briefings, etc.

+ Provide technical mentorship and training to operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use of fixtures, tooling, and equipment.

+ Communicate and work optimally with colleagues on process improvements and new product development and introduction.

+ Strong technical skills in metal joining of Nickel-based alloys, including welding, brazing, and preferably diffusion bonding.

+ Significant experience in heat treatment vacuum furnace operations and maintenance.

+ Proficient in CAD/CAM software, preferably Siemens NX, with experience in fixture design, sheet metal forming, and ideally robotic programming.

+ Experience in improving manufacturing processes, facilities, and production planning, along with knowledge of tooling and equipment selection.

+ Ability to interpret sophisticated drawings and specifications, understanding GD&T, non-destructive and destructive testing techniques, and familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma philosophies.

    About the Team

Through our Gas Services division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power supply. Currently, we're reducing carbon emissions of existing assets and developing technologies that transform power generation applications.

Specifically, Combustion Component Manufacturing is responsible for the manufacture of transition ducts and combustor baskets primarily, that produce and deliver the hot gas into the 1st turbine stage of the gas turbine. We work closely with combustion design engineering on the development of cutting-edge technology which is evident in the newly released 9000HL gas turbine with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants.
