    CiTi BOCES is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our High School Day Treatment Program. This specialized program serves students with significant emotional, behavioral, and academic needs who benefit from a highly structured educational environment paired with therapeutic supports.

     

    The successful candidate will teach a high school 8:1:1 special class, providing individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, New York State Learning Standards, and tailored behavioral supports.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that support both academic and behavioral growth.

    + Collaborate with mental health staff, teaching assistants, and related service providers to support students' academic and emotional needs.

    + Provide instruction aligned with New York State Standards.

    + Collect data and document student progress towards IEP goals.

    + Participate in CSE meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions.

    + Foster a supportive, therapeutic, and structured classroom environment that promotes student growth and success.

    + Implement behavioral strategies and crisis intervention when necessary, following program protocols.

    Job Qualifications

    + NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities (7-12 or All Grades) required.

    + Dual certification in English 7-12 or Social Studies 7-12 preferred.

    + Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in a therapeutic or highly structured setting is highly desirable.

    + Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    + Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, and behavior management techniques is a plus.
