This study aims to determine whether financial incentives can improve medication adherence among individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and/or bipolar disorder, as well as alcohol or opioid use disorders—particularly those who have recently been involuntarily hospitalized or are at high risk of future involuntary hospitalization. The goal is to assess whether financial incentives can help reduce the likelihood of future mental health crises and prevent costly, involuntary hospital admissions.

Additional recruitment will occur at Pittsburgh Mercy’s outpatient clinic and CTT program at 264 South 9th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively, and have a solid understanding of research methodologies.
