    Summary:

    Meta is seeking an Electrical Engineer experienced in the design and construction of Critical Facilities to become part of our onsite data center design team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates. Building and operating reliable and efficient data centers is essential to support the growth of Meta. The data center design team collaborates with all key stakeholders to ensure engineering and design of our data centers incorporate considerations from micro-levels (servers and IT equipment design requirements) to macro-levels (mechanical cooling and power distribution options) to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of our compute infrastructure. As an integral part of the onsite Design team, you will support design and onsite construction administration as Design Owner Representative, Electrical Design Engineer and subject matter expert, collaborating with multiple internal partner teams such as Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, Safety, and Facility Engineering, and external partners such as engineers of record, general contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver data center capacity safely, on time, within budget, and high quality. This position is full-time, on project site, in support requiring engagement with stakeholders and providing directional guidance aligned with the pace of dynamic fast-tracked construction.

    Required Skills:

    Onsite Data Center Design Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with Design and Delivery teams, engineer of record (EoR), contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve electrical-related issues involving safety, quality, cost, schedule, proposed changes, value engineering proposals, submittals, requests for information and other design related issues

    2. Collaborate with the Meta Design team and EoR to ensure design project deliverables such as drawing sets, shop drawings, requests for information, submittals, studies, audits, calculations and reports meet requirements and service level agreements outlined in EoR performance requirements

    3. Drive and hold teams accountable for design deliverables and engage on emerging requirements to ensure schedule requirements are met. Advise on opportunities to compress schedules wherever possible

    4. Proactively anticipate and mitigate potential quality issues. Monitor and resolve design quality issues to ensure owner requirements are met

    5. Support design change cost estimates, provide insight on EoR contractual costs, team resource allocations and changes, monitor and report on electrical-related expenses

    6. In collaboration with stakeholders, engage in deliberate, forward thinking to identify and mitigate risks. Contribute to the risk register

    7. Participate in factory tests, onsite testing and commissioning and other quality checks throughout the project life cycle and in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure proper installation and commissioning of electrical systems and integration with other critical systems

    8. Liaise between internal teams, consultants and contractors across projects and campus to ensure transparency, situational awareness of status and way forward, and timely resolution of issues

    9. Maintain current awareness of project knowledge repository, status, decision, and planning documents. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Provide regular project updates to internal stakeholders and information sharing, priorities, and feedback to EoR

    10. Review and comment on electrical design documents, specifications, and calculations

    11. Provide technical expertise and oversight to ensure the design and construction meet the owner's requirements and industry standards for critical facility electrical systems including Manufactured/Owner Furnished Equipment (M/OFE)

    12. Collaborate with other technical disciplines as required to ensure fully functioning, integrated systems. Actively guide Cross-Discipline technical interactions within Meta Design team and EOR to ensure multi-disciplinary team alignment

    13. Develop and support onboarding of new teammates to ensure continuity of design support

    14. Develop cross discipline knowledge to ensure continuity and build breadth and depth of the overall field design team

    15. In partnership with teammates, serve as electrical subject matter expert, maintain situational awareness of campus and project level priorities and provide timely resolution of existing and emergent issues

    16. Provide deliberate and thoughtful development and embedment of lessons learned for design improvements of in-flight and future products

    17. Meeting participation to drive collaboration within the Meta Design team and EOR, report regular updates, identify challenges, resolution proposals, escalation paths and align on business direction

    18. Chair Electrical Discipline Led Design, Delivery & Quality on-site meetings to facilitate resolution of critical issues related to design

    19. Manage multi-disciplinary work, occasionally non-electrical related, as needed to support the project and Meta business objectives

    20. Collaborate and support in innovating Design-Construction technology and processes

    21. Close collaboration and engagement with the Quality Team, with focus on area walk downs, critical benchmarks, systems integration and operation, issue resolution, Commissioning Script review and implementation, providing technical support and guidance on Design related matters

    22. Support Facilities Engineering and Operations Team on knowledge sharing, technical guidance and system operation of Design throughout the project schedule

    Minimum Qualifications:

    23. BS in Electrical Engineering

    24. Licensed Professional Engineer

    25. 10+ years of professional experience in mission critical building design, construction and/or operations

    26. Knowledge depth (SME) of HV (>115kV)/MV substation design, low voltage (480V/400V) power distribution, power generation (stand-by, prime, cogen, renewable energy etc.) and UPS systems

    27. Knowledge depth (SME) of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NFPA70, NFPA70E, IEC, and IEEE

    28. Knowledge of mechanical air/fluid cooled systems, Fire Protection/Fire Alarm systems such as Early Warning/Detection Systems, Double Interlock Pre-Action, and Wet Pipe Systems

    29. Knowledge of electrical safety programs

    30. Experience performing power systems studies and cable thermal analysis

    31. Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills

    32. Project Management Experience

    33. Effective presentation and communication to peers, stakeholders and leadership

    34. Fluent in English

    35. Experience on liquid cooling mission critical facilities

    36. Experience on large scale electrical construction projects

    37. Experience in data center or mission critical design and construction support

    38. Electrical Power Management/SCADA systems

    39. IEEE PES or IEEE IAS Membership

    40. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Revit, Visio, Oracle P6, Google suite, and Bluebeam software

    41. Experience with construction and cost estimating processes

    42. Experience with local/state code compliance

    Public Compensation:

    $170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
