    Amazon Transportation collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class transportation network. This organization oversees all global middle and last mile products, spanning B2B and B2C, critical partners, enterprise and SMB customers across numerous teams. This includes – but is not limited to – Amazon Shipping, Amazon Freight, Amazon Relay, Amazon Freight Partners, Amazon Flex, Amazon Hub, Amazon Hub Delivery and delivery service partner. Everything we do is aimed at further delighting our customers, partners and employees with faster, cheaper and more efficient means of shipping and receiving packages.

     

    Creative Garage (CG) is the central creative team supporting the portfolio of global transportation products across Amazon Transportation. The team focuses on building brand awareness, recognition, acquisition and engagement with global transportation brands through the human stories behind logistics. The team builds and owns the global brands and the creative expression of these brands throughout the customer journey. We work closely with global marketing and customer insights partners to test and learn creative, ensuring our design solutions resonate with the target audience. We have high standards and strive to continuously raise the bar across all creative elements.

     

    The Art Director will have a passion for creative development and execution, with proven expertise in building scalable design systems. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and versatile creative who transforms business goals into world-class designs. They will develop deep knowledge of Amazon Transportation products, brand guidelines, and design tenets. This research-driven designer excels at collaborating with stakeholders to understand customer pain points and create exceptional omni-channel content - from marketing campaigns and sales collateral to in-person experiences and video storytelling. They have a proven ability to synthesize complex concepts into simple storytelling that resonates with customers. The ideal candidate approaches projects with a holistic, systems-thinking mindset, demonstrates high ownership and integrity, thinks critically as a problem solver, and stays current with industry trends.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Develop and execute creative briefs, translating marketing strategies and data insights into compelling creative solutions

    • Drive excellence through critical thinking and solution-oriented problem solving

    • Identify emerging culture/design trends and digital innovations

    • Skilled at art direction, brand development, image curation, visual storytelling, layout, form and color

    • Manage campaign art direction end-to-end (from concept to production) across mediums including digital, social, OOH, on-platform ads, direct mail, collateral, external partnerships, experiential, and more

    • Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guides, across multiple and diverse categories

    • Develop and maintain scalable design systems and brand standards across all customer-facing touchpoints

    • Present concepts and work to stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including senior management up to VP level

    • Build trust and credibility with stakeholders through active listening and diverse perspective gathering

    • Works collaboratively with the creative operations team to deliver projects on time and on budget

    • Comfortable taking ownership in an ambiguous environment

    • Demonstrates a command of creative methods, tools, communication, and presentation skills

    • Works with a global marketing team across NA, UK and EU, localizing creative where necessary

    Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of design experience

     

    - Have an available online portfolio

     

    - Knowledge of branding guidelines and corporate identity, visual design, print and digital layout design

     

    - Experience in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Strong online portfolio of creative work across digital, print and/or social (samples will be requested)

     

    - Proficiency with industry design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma

     

    - Understanding of marketing campaign execution across multiple channels

     

    - Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment

     

    - Knowledge of global brand systems and guidelines

     

    - Experience with generative AI tools for design workflows

     

    - Experience creating scalable design systems and templates

     

    - Bachelor’s degree in design, creative, advertising, or another related field

     

    - Experience working with external vendors and creative agencies

     

    - Excellent communication and organizational skills

     

    - Self-starter with the passion, ability, and energy to work in a fast-paced start-up environment

     

    - Able to work in a diverse team

     

    - B2B, transportation and/or logistics design experience a bonus, but not required

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
