    The Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic individual to facilitate psycho-educational groups through collaboration with community agencies. The selected candidate will provide supervision and guidance to aftercare community liaisons and aftercare recovery specialists that provides direct care to clients in the Recovery from Addictions Program including but not limited to group facilitation, lectures, and orientation for new clients including discharge and aftercare planning. *_ Please Note_*: This position covers both Metro Boston & Northeast area; incumbents in this role will meet with clients on the unit and in the community on a regular basis with some travel to and from the RAP program in Taunton about 2-3 times per month. * _Work Schedule_: *The selected candidate will work 40 hours on the 1st shift working on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:30am to 5pm and Wednesday from 10am to 6:30pm. The days off will be on Sunday and Saturday. *_ Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_* * Provides direct supervision and monitors workloads of assigned staff to ensure appropriate service delivery for clients. * Participates in the hiring and training of staff. * Maintains on going relationships with DMH site offices, site directors/area directors and RAP to address any staffing concerns. * Provides support and supervision to staff in the field with clinical concerns regarding a client’s presentation (depression, anxiety, suicidality). * Collaborates with the RAP clinical and medical staff to establish client’s aftercare needs, follows-up on services, creates service/support plans goals for rehabilitation and stabilization, plans the delivery of services; and supports clients to the completion of services. * Meets with clients on the unit and in the community on a regular basis to continue to provide support for community living needs, medical, psychiatric and rehabilitation services and other support services. Coordinates services with family input through in person and phone contact. * Provides consultation and education to clients and families regarding co-occurring disorders. * In collaboration with clinical and medical RAP staff, assesses individuals served to determine the clinical and rehabilitative services needed by clients, refers to and arranges needed services; and provides direct services on an interim basis. * Leads meetings to initiate, revise, and prepare service/support plans. * Monitors response to services and determines the effectiveness of services; assists with preparing and coordinating crisis intervention for individuals receiving services. * Recommends and refers to services relating to substance treatment services, benefits, housing, education, and employment. * Conveys information and explains options to clients with varying expectations, needs, cultures, and languages and assists them in determining the best methods or actions to be initiated on their behalf. * Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, and educational conferences, mandatory trainings to enhance professional and personal growth. * Coordinates/facilitates weekly staff meetings. Disseminates important information from RAP Program and Clinical Directors to aftercare staff. * Accompanies clients to appointments, court appearances, programs, and medical appointments; and assists as needed. * Establishes clients’ needs by facilitating psycho-educational groups, individual meetings, and participation in team meetings. * Participates in and oversees Aftercare Performance Improvement projects. * Other duties as assigned by Program/Aftercare Directors. *_ Required Qualifications:_* * Ability to supervise * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues including trauma and/or self-help programs * Diagnostic, assessment skills and case management ability * Ability to facilitate a group/lecture * Demonstrated understanding of boundaries and ethics * Computer skills (maintaining electronic case records and ability to navigate and use other software programs) * Must comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2 and Part 8, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations *_ Program Requirements:_* * Minimum of one (1) year experience working with clients with primary substance use disorders; knowledge of substance use and treatment systems. * Current & valid driver's license. *_ Preferred Qualifications:_* * Professional licensure in a human service field including but not limited to LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, License Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). * Ability to demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward individuals with substance use disorder. * Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail. * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency. *_ About the Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP)_*: The Department of Mental Health (DMH) in collaboration with the Department of Public Health (DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services operates a statewide Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) for individuals civilly committed by the courts for substance use treatment for up to 90 days (“Section 35 commitment”). The program model will provide acute detoxification and early clinical stabilization services as we help clients develop community-based linkages to outpatient supports and substance use disorder treatment providers. The individuals treated within this program will be linked upon discharge to a range of services within the DPH continuum of care for substance use conditions. RAP provides administrative, medical, clinical, and non-clinical services. Based on assignment as a Mental Health Case Manager or Forensic Transition Team Coordinator, within the Department of Mental Health, a Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, education of the multiple handicapped, education of the learning disabled, human services, rehabilitation counseling, education or other a related field is required. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
