    About the Role

Callen-Lorde is searching for a dynamic Data Analytics Engineer (DAE) to join our mission-driven team, empowering data-supported decision-making by transforming complex information from clinical systems like Epic EHR into actionable insights. You'll design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge data solutions, build and refine our data warehouse, and champion data governance best practices across the organization.     Key Responsibilities

    The Data Analytics Engineer (DAE) at Callen-Lorde is responsible for some of the following:

    + Data Integration & Management:

    + Design, implement, and manage data pipelines to integrate data from Epic and other data & reporting systems.

    + Clean, transform, and prepare data from different sources for analysis, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to understand data requirements and create effective data models.

    + Support and optimize Epic's reporting capabilities and develop custom reports based on clinical and operational needs.

    + Advanced Analytics & Reporting:

    + Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create dashboards and interactive reports that provide actionable insights to clinicians, administrators, and leadership.

    + Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.

    + Develop predictive models to improve patient care and optimize resources in the health center.

    + Ensure that data related to patient outcomes, appointments, diagnoses, and treatments are captured and accessible for analysis.

    + Collaboration & Communication:

    + Work closely with Infrastructure Operations, A&I and data stewards across the organization, to ensure smooth data flows and troubleshoot data-related issues.

    + Collaborate with clinicians and stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and support data-driven decision-making.

    + Communicate complex data findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

    + Continuous Improvement:

    + Stay current with new technologies and tools in the field of data analytics and healthcare systems.

    + Proactively recommend and implement process improvements that enhance the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data management.

    + Support the organization’s designated liaison to external regulatory agencies to assure contractual compliance in data reporting and submissions. This includes but is not limited to o verseeing the validation and delivery of various Quality, Compliance and Grant reports essential.

    Work Schedule:

    This is a full-time position with regular business hours. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience

    + 3+ Years Experience in data analytics

    + 3+ Years Experience in database engineering

    + 2+years Experience in Healthcare data revenue cycle

    + Deep expertise in at least one healthcare domain

    + Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; including Pivot Tables

    + Experience with PowerQuery preferred

    + Advanced Proficiency with the following Epic/OCHIN reporting tools and data systems: Cogito, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer

    + Epic Cogito Admin certification required

    + Advanced Proficiency in SQL querying and report writing (advanced proficiency preferred)

    + Proficiency with the following Epic/OCHIN reporting tools and data systems: Clarity

     

    Desired Characteristics, Skills

     

    + Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and transmission risks, and TGNB care.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of city, state, national and global prevention strategies.

    + Demonstrate cultural competence and a proven ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities and people from various cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.

    + Commitment to community-based healthcare, understanding its vital role in promoting health equity and improving population health outcomes.
