DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Steamboat Lake State Park:
One of the true jewels of Colorado, Steamboat Lake State Park has something special for everyone. Hahn's Peak frames the breathtaking scenery of this premier park in Northwest Colorado offering family fishing, camping, picnicking, trail and boating recreational opportunities.
Pearl Lake State Park:
Nestled in the mountains north of Steamboat Springs, this peaceful park sits in a serene lakeside setting. Overlooking Farwell Mountain, visitor’s camp along the shoreline and on a ridge with amazing views.
PARK MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: Responsible for all general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including: restrooms, showers, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, trails, etc.
+ Operates and performs routine maintenance on State owned vehicles and equipment.
+ Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness.
+ Provides information and assistance to visitors.
+ May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies.
+ This position is required to utilize equipment such as pressure washers, hand tools, small power tools, shop vac’s, vacuums, park vehicles, and other equipment on a daily basis.
+ Employees will be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
+ This position will be expected to assist with other maintenance duties including maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds with other assigned duties.
+ Basic understanding of cleaning, landscaping, construction, hand tools, small engines or related concepts preferred.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
+ Must have reliable transportation to and from work
+ A background screening may be required for placement in this position
+ Applicants may be disqualified based on some felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
+ Strong customer service and communication skills required
+ Must be enthusiastic, organized, and self-motivated

+ Able and willing to do data entry on tablets and computers
+ Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts

+ Upon hire attend and successfully complete required boat inspector training
+ Supply and work in appropriate uniform as directed by policy. Some uniform items will be provided, however, employees will be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense
+ Must be able to work with minimal supervision
JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:
+ ANS will perform physical activities include, but are not limited to, lifting 50 lbs. or more, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, climbing onto/into trailered boats, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and bending in different positions in
order to properly inspect and decontaminate boats and handle equipment.
+ Maintenancewill perform physical activities that include, but are not limited to, lifting 50 lbs. or more, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and bending in different positions.
+ Visitor Center/Entrance Attendant will perform moderate levels of physical activity. Activities may include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods of time, working on computers for long periods, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and bending in different positions.
