Job Description

+ Perform thorough physical and digital inspections of customer returns to assess product condition, authenticity, and order accuracy.

+ Investigate return activities for signs of fraud, abuse, or policy violations, including but not limited to item not received (INR) claims, return fraud, product tampering, or false return claims.

+ Accurately document inspection results and investigation findings, ensuring detailed reporting in internal systems to support decision-making and potential escalations.

+ Determine appropriate disposition of returned products—restock, refurbish, liquidate, return to vendor, or process refunds/replacements—based on inspection outcomes and fraud assessments.

+ Communicate and collaborate directly with customers and vendors regarding return issues, discrepancies, or investigations, ensuring professionalism and alignment with company policies.

+ Collaborate closely with fraud prevention teams, customer service, finance, loss prevention, and warehouse operations to address suspicious activities and mitigate risks.

+ Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders regarding return statuses, investigation outcomes, and any escalated fraud concerns.

+ Support continuous improvement of return fraud detection processes by providing feedback, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending procedural enhancements.

+ Balance customer satisfaction with the responsibility to enforce return policies, protect company assets, and deter fraudulent activities.

+ Participate in warehouse-based physical inspections, including unpacking, testing, photographing, and repackaging returned items as part of investigative work.

Requirements

+ Willingness to travel between Newegg locations, including the Diamond Bar corporate office and the Ontario warehouse, based on operational or investigative needs.

+ Occasional on-site presence at the Ontario warehouse required to conduct physical inspections or support hands-on investigations.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a warehouse setting and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods during inspections.

+ Ability to work mandatory overtime, including evenings and weekends, during peak seasons to meet operational demands.

Pay Transparency

This job posting may span more than one job level.The base salary range for this position in Diamond Bar, CA is $21 - $25/hour.
