Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for the maintenance, creation and distribution of digital and analog images and diagnostic reports associated with patient health records. Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with referring physician staff in order to facilitate the exchange of information.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides support in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records as well as fulfills requests for images ensuring availability in the system, hard copy (film), electronic transmission and/or CD as required and follows proper protocols for releasing confidential patient information.
2. Verifies physician preferences related to the receipt of completed patient images and diagnostic report, and ensures reports and images are distributed to the correct physician at the correct address in the format requested.
3. Performs the maintenance and destruction of confidential medical records in accordance with current guidelines and regulations.
4. Digitizes, formats, and transmits approved film based images into PACS and inspects image quality and formatting as appropriate.
5. Verifies recipient of reports/images has proper authorization for obtaining information and utilizes custom databases to create/track work orders and productivity.
6. Performs a variety of tasks and functions associated with the daily operations of the department, including but not limited to, greeting patients, medical staff and the public, answering incoming telephone calls, create manual or digital tracking logs using information systems, create work orders, printing, filing, basic office duties.

3. Must learn and comply with system and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features or equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to the used for any job function.
4. Adheres to the STRIC Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules and regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
5. Completes other duties as assigned.
