    About the Job

     

    The Leveraged Loans Associate will be responsible for supporting the Leveraged Loans Group team in their performance of financial analysis and the preparation of underwriting documents to support complex, multimillion-dollar LBOs, MBOs, go-privates and recapitalizations. Additionally, the Leveraged Loans Associate will assist the team with the ongoing credit monitoring, LCF modeling, underwriting and diligence on new transactions and annual reviews and will also be responsible for managing on an ongoing basis a TBD number of existing leveraged credit relationships.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    - Assist in gathering and analyzing all relevant financial data for a client or prospect, including modeling client’s / prospect’s projections in our Leveraged Cash Flow model, including downside scenarios, analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc.

     

    - Assist in preparing a thorough credit underwriting document identifying credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues

     

    - Assist in diligence of new LBO opportunities, including mining data rooms and reviewing 3rd party diligence data.

     

    - Assist VPs and SVPs with the completion of Annual Reviews on all existing clients.

     

    - Take part in the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including answering questions from Credit Executives

     

    - Assist the VPs and SVPs with completion of all Know Your Customer (“KYC”) regulations

     

    -Take ownership from a portfolio management perspective of TBD number of existing leveraged transactions and manage the ongoing needs of those portfolio names, including, annual reviews, quarterly portfolio reporting, amendment and waiver requests and add-on acquisition requests.

     

    - Monitor the ongoing financial performance of portfolio companies and track covenant compliance

    Required Qualifications

    - Strong competence in financial modeling, as well as understanding clients' external models. Candidate must develop solid working knowledge and operation of Key’s internal Leveraged Cash Flow model as well as all existing operational platforms such as CWA and AQR.

     

    -Minimum 3 years of relevant banking/portfolio management expertise at a financial institution, preferably a regulated bank. Leveraged Lending experience a plus.

     

    - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance **_or_** equivalent experience required

     

    - Strong MS Office skills.
